Objects

In "Objects" I turned the LOMO-compact-automat toward the things of everyday Soviet life in mid-1980s Moscow. Photographed on black-and-white film, these overlooked items — signs, tools, the small manufactured details of the era — become quiet witnesses to their time. Removed from people, they speak of scarcity and use, of design shaped by necessity rather than desire. The toy camera's imperfect rendering strips away polish and leaves only presence, inviting a closer look at what a society made, kept, and left behind.
